We don’t recommend burning anything except for seasoned wood and starter kindling such as smaller logs or newspaper. Seasoned wood is wood that has been allowed to dry out for at least six months, lacking the green “freshly cut” coloration.

Unseasoned wood will lead to faster creosote build-up, and often starter logs include a chemical composition you don’t want to bring into your home.
